Terry & Mo were married in 1969 at Purley Baptist Church and began their married life in Tonbridge, Kent. Mo was a Primary School Teacher and Terry was an architect. They served as Youth Leaders at Tonbridge Baptist Church where Terry was deacon.
In 1981 Terry began a four year course of training for the Baptist ministry at Spurgeon's College in South Norwood.
In 1986 they moved to Maidenhead to lead the Baptist Church. During that time the church developed a relationship with Newfrontiers and Terry began to visit Sierra Leone after a ministry trip to Freetown with evangelist Eric Cowley of WorldwideHarvest Ministries - now Global Focus. In January 2000 the Church changed its name to Jubilee Community Church to reflect its growing vision.
.
2005 was a very tough year, a time when Terry and Mo were to experience the challenge of terminal illness. Terry experienced a remarkable healing, but Mo's diagnosis of Alzheimer’s meant that he became Mo’s full-time carer. It was soon clear that he would need to hand over the leadership of the church, and seek God about whether they had any future ministry together. God soon made it clear to both of them that they still had much more to do for him. In November 2005 Jubilee Church appointed Stuart Otto as the new Lead Elder. Terry continued in Eldership until God made it clear it was time to move on. Terry and Mo have now become part of River Church in Maidenhead.
SIERRA LEONE
As a result of Terry's visit to Sierra Leone in 1993, they began taking teams from their Church engaging in evangelism, leadership training, and community development projects. They believe that their ministry in this nation, and other nations, is about to move to a whole new level. It may seem crazy to some for this couple to attempt a venture like this with Mo’s medical problems, but any who have met them will know that as they minister to others from a place of weakness, God seems to pour out blessings in special ways. In March 2008 they made another team visit to Freetown where they helped to organize a leaders’ conference, and evangelistic meetings. After only four days they saw around six hundred people respond to the Gospel, followed by some beach baptisms GOD IS GOOD!
MISSION DIRECT
Most of their current ministry opportunities come as a result of their association with Mission Direct, a ministry committed to sending volunteer teams to third-world nations. These teams work on practical relief projects initiated by local churches. Terry is on the Board of Trustees.
MD currently sends teams to Brazil, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Moldova, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia.
